Kill Bill (Volume 1) Aug28 '04
I enjoyed Kill Bill (Volume 1) very much.
The soundtrack is amazing. Very intense and symbolic. I think the music makes the movie that much better.
The dialogue is non–verbose and very straight–forward. There is no hidden tricks in this movie. What you see is what you get. It’s very relieving.
The fight scenes were stellar. That sword... I love the momentum that was built up to her actually using it. You could just feel it’s power, before she even withdrew it from it’s sheath.
There is such a deeper feeling to this movie, more than just killing relentlessly. I think Uma Thurman’s intensity was what made the difference. Her anger and attitude could have moved mountains. She really gave viewers a sense of how deep the issue went. You could feel her pain, and wanting her to succeed was a "no brainer."
I don’t know how else I can sum up such a superb movie.
Oh... that final fight scene in the snow was unbelievable. Not the actually fighting, but the set itself. So awesome. And I loved when the camera was shooting it from a distance, and that subtle water dripper was heard.
Enough said. Onto Volume 2.
