Map Finds Sep04 '04
I look at maps a lot, and here are some interesting things I’ve noticed lately:
- There is a Las Vegas, New Mexico.
- Speaking of Las Vegas (the other one) – Nevada is the 7th largest state, in terms of square miles. And it only has two (count ‘em) – two major expressways (I–80 and I–15) – each of which cut directly across the state. I guess there’s not much to see, eh?
- Rhode Island is the smallest state, in terms of square miles, and it has three major expressways.
- River trivia: The Ohio River creates the entire southern border of Ohio; the Red River creates the entire southern border of Oklahoma; the Colorado River creates the entire eastern border of Arizona.
- On the north–eastern edge of Oregon lies "Hells Canyon National Recreation Area."
