What are your RSS opinions? Sep20 '04
RSS is one of the only acronyms I’ve come across in my years of working with the web, that doesn’t have an official meaning. And it’s kind of appropriate, because the technology seems to have changed just as much as the acronym.
Which do you prefer? Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary? Or maybe there’s another one I am not aware of?
Personally, I prefer Rich Site Summary. I think it is more proper, and it describes the purpose of the technology. I am all about using technologies appropriately.
Also, what version of RSS do you prefer? 0.91, 0.92, 2.0, or 1.0?
What are your reasons for picking one over the other?
Dave Shea already popped this question.
I prefer version 2.0, because of it’s extensibility and simplicity. Version 1.0 has better support for modules, but I choose the more intuitive version, in the end.
