Selecting text within a link Oct06 '04

I ran into a curious scenario this afternoon, while trying to copy some text off of Mapquest.

The text that I was trying to copy was part of a link.

We all know what happens when you hover over a link. The mouse arrow turns into a little hand, allowing us to click on that area, and be taken to wherever the link is programmed to take us.

The problem is if certain text is a link, there is no way to select a portion of it. For example, try selecting all the text from the word "my" to the word "Please," in the link below:

This is my wonderful link. Please click on it.

You can select ALL the text, but not a middle portion.

Anyone know a way to do this? A keyboard combination, or something?

Don't try this in xwindows tho... all you will do is drag the window around the screen :). ... Read more.
