Let it snow, girls Dec07 '04

I’ve come to the conclusion that only women can sing Christmas songs well.

Guys just don’t have that "holiday vibe."

This holiday season, I’ve sampled numerous contemporary Christmas albums, and all of my favorites are female vocalists.

I’ve even come to appreciate, and admire, certain artists that I don’t normally listen to.

For example – Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera.

Normally, these artists produce a certain style of Pop that I don’t listen to that often. I have no particular reason for not listening to their regular music, and I certainly have nothing against them as artists – they all have incredible voices, and are very talented. They simply don’t play my style of music.

But when it comes to Christmas songs – nobody does it better. I repeat. Nobody does it better. Their voices and style fit perfectly with the spirit of Christmas, and the excitement around. They add flair and personality to any Christmas song.

And I won’t stop there. There are dozens of other female vocalists (that I can think of) that have produced Christmas albums, which stand above the rest:

Sarah McLachlan, Amy Grant, Mariah Carey, Dido, Jewel, Fiona Apple, and many more.

The above artists I listen to regularly, as well.

My decision has been made. When it comes to Christmas, only women do it right.
