Some Tuesday in January

January 27, 2005 / Filed under: Recollections, Creative Writing

As the only warmth began to sneak down the western side of the sky, our day stretched on to new places, and new ideas.

A drive to Epcot was left, and to our right, we thought of the recent morning from afar.

Dusk has a settling feeling, a soft whisper amongst the breezy plains. A chill began to surface from the ground.

Lake Buena Vista, in January, saw few crowds, but the smiles still lingered everywhere.

This was my Tuesday. Tonight, the miles traveled on foot would certainly make case.

Epcot, at the heart of Walt Disney World Florida, is a spectacular scene after dark. The tourists milling about. Children laughing everywhere. Beatles rock (The British Invasion), hammering out "I Saw Her Standing There," provide the perfect backdrop, in sync with the United Kingdom region of the park.

A year ago, this week, I was taking in the surroundings at the world’s greatest theme parks.

Of course, I was there this past August too, which stands out a little more in my mind, but we’ll talk about that in August, I suppose.

January – that quiet and calm first month, which slips by with hardly a whisper, provides my inspiration for this post.

I remember it well. Like it was yesterday. I suppose all memories are yesterday. And all yesterday’s are memories. We never forget, do we?

Oh how much i love that place, even though there are not a lot of exciting and thrilling rides at epcot (whic stands for Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow)there is something about that park which seems to make dreams more vivid. My favorite part of the park happens at night when the lights go down, it is then that the show begins. Illuminations, EPCOT's fireworks is so amazing that one must see it for themselves. I can't wait to go down there again, there is something about that place that strikes a fire inside me and inspires me to create. Someday i will be there, inspiring others to imagine and dream.
