Routine Mac maintenance this evening May11 '05
This evening, I will be putting my Mac through some maintenance procedures, in order to (hopefully) salvage the hard disk, which has been feeling sluggish, as of late.
My G4 PowerPC (867 MhZ, 512MB RAM) is approaching four years old, and I’m eager for some more power.
The presence of Dual 2.7GHz PowerPC G5 computers is always enticing.
In any case, if this maintenance works, I may be able to install Tiger, and squeeze another few years out of my Mac.
If anything, the maintenance will certainly clean up files, folders, and anything else that has been buried for years – and taking up valuable space.
The maintenance looks like it will take a couple hours, so I will not be available by IM, this evening.
