Billboard "stacked trios"

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of billboards in a row, that are for the same company.

By "in a row," I mean one right after another.

Three seems to be the magic number.

Is this some kind of "bulk" advertising that is going on? I’ve never seen, before, three billboards in a row, for the exact same company, of the same campaign.

Chipolte

The latest "stacked trio" on my trip home is Chipolte. Mind you, I actually enjoy these ones...

They are all very simple and plain. Each has a small picture of the burrito, wrapped up in it’s foil, and a tag line to the left of it.

The first one says, Ingest No Evil.

The second one says, Clean Food.

And the third one says, Served Hot, Not Heated.

And, like I said, these are all right after one another. Three in a row. Boom. Bam. Split.

As much as I like the Chipolte ads, there are some "stacked trios" I’ve seen that are all but appealing.

Cold Stone Creamery

Before the Chipolte ads, the Cold Stone Creamery trio was in the same spot.

But, these ads were so unappealing, I had to laugh each time I passed them. Their current campaign is atrocious.

Each billboard had a picture of a semi-pretty looking female’s face, with an ice cream cone right up next to her lips. (The ice cream cone didn’t even look like ice cream - it looked like sand paper).

One of them said, What passion tastes like.

What!? Passion? What... the ice cream, or the girl? If they are referring to the girl - why would a complete stranger give me passion? If they are referring to the ice cream... well, just forget it. They already lost my interest with the girl, and the attempt at a cheap, sleazy sex ad.

The next billboard said, We’re such a tease.

Again, a weak, cheap sex ad. I suppose the girl is supposed to be a tease? And the ice cream that looks like sand paper?

The next one said... well forget it. You get the point.
