Sox win, Matt sleeps Oct27 '05

For the record, I wasn’t at the bar when it happened - I was at home. I left in the 8th inning, even before a single run was scored.

This morning, I wish I had stayed. Life would go on - with a mighty hang-over - but life would go on.

I decided to be responsible last night, and leave before I consumed too much, or stayed out too late. Being up at 5:30 AM every day is a tough schedule to stick to. So... I have to make sacrafices, and times like last night really make me wonder if it was even worth sacraficing.

When it comes to work-days, and sleep - I typically don’t mess around. I don’t play games with sleep. I would rather miss the "end of the world," than lose a good night’s sleep. Call me crazy. I take my sleep seriously.

Being responsible sucks, sometimes. Sure, I feel pretty good right now - without a terrible hang-over, and pretty clear-headed.

But I wasn’t there to celebrate. I wasn’t there to soak it all in. Sure, it was just one of a million bars in the Chicago-land area, but I still would have liked to have been around people - just for that brief, "winning" moment.

Oh, and before I forget - congratulations to the 2005 World Series Champions - the Chicago White Sox. I’m proud of them all, and I hope I see another one in Chicago (before I die) - but this time for the North-siders.
