Using the Apple store as an internet cafe Nov30 '05
I was at the Apple store Woodfield yesterday evening, and I got to thinking it’s the most glamorous looking internet cafe around!
In other words, if I need to check my email - or just do any web-related work, I can always pop by an Apple store, and conduct my business - and on a 30-inch monitor, if I want!
Of course, it’s not the most ideal place to conduct business, but in case of an emergency at home or the office (internet down, computer failure, etc.) - it’s as good of a place as any.
For saving files - it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to be sticking USB thumb drives into the computers. (I don’t think the Apple store employees would put up with that, for long.) However, if you have an .Mac account, you can use your iDisk to send files, which you can receive elsewhere.
