MySpace anyone? Apr05 '06

A lot of my friends use MySpace. I’d like to comment and contribute on their blogs, but you have to be a member, to do so. In fact, I think you need to be a member just to view their information (blogs, pictures, etc).

Now... here’s what I know about MySpace:

Other than that, what else is so bad about it? I’m not really sure. It seems MySpace gets a "bad rap" in the web development community, for reasons unclear.

But since I work in web development, I’ve been capable of creating my own blog from scratch - which means absolutely nothing, except that I’ve never considered MySpace, for that reason.

Those of you in "web development," what do you think of MySpace? Have you ever signed up for an account (in order to keep in touch with friends who already have an account)?

Are there other things I don’t know of, which make MySpace bad?

What I’m thinking of doing is simply creating the account, but not really adding anything to it. I just need it, so I can comment on my friends blogs. That’s it.
