I have been using MySpace for over a year and a half now....let me tell from a developer’s stand point: IT DOES SUCK.

There are always some kind of bugs with the system whether it be that you can’t even log in(or that it is s l o w ), or as you’re navigating around you’ll frequently get ’sorry that is not available right now’ and low and behold, if you click the back button and then click what you were trying to see again, it will work. I have always had this vision of this guy ’Tom’ sitting in his basement working on this crap until all hours of the night.

For as popular as it is, (and with as much advertising money these guys have to be making), I am still surprised at how unreliable it is. And I still feel like Tom is running this out of his basement.

Now, from a waste-some-time-over-your-lunch-hour standpoint, it is quite entertaining, and it is a fun way to stay in touch with friends. It’s also a cool alternative to classmates.com for looking up people that you graduated with. (If you’re interested in that sort of thing)

Indeed, Amanda! ;)

Interesting thoughts.

I guess I’ll sign up for MySpace, and see how much aggravation it entails.

I signed up for it and have since closed my account. It was fun to search on, but I couldn’t find many friends on it. Most of my friends are on Facebook since I am still in college (for another few weeks anyway). The user generated content keeps me coming back, but the fact that it really is a waste of time has me always second guessing myself.

A lot of my friends use MySpace. I’d like to comment and contribute on their blogs, but you have to be a member, to do so.
