Three bands tonight Apr19 '06
Tonight I am going to see Death Cab for Cutie and Franz Ferdinand at the Aragon Ballroom, in Chicago.
I am very excited.
Death Cab is a very good band, with thoughtful music, from a group of humble guys.
Franz Ferdinand, on the other hand, is a spontaneous, energized, and charismatic group of guys from Scotland, who have practically "taken the world by storm."
So... tonight I’ll get to see two very different bands, and that makes it more interesting.
And the Aragon Ballroom is a classic venue, in Chicago. Very old and "ornate," the last time I was there I saw the Smashing Pumpkins, right before they broke up. Of course I didn’t know that, then. Good timing, eh?
Tonight should be great. Festivities begin at 6:30, with The Cribs, and I’m assuming Death Cab will be on by 8 PM, and Franz to follow as headliners.
