Orphan Zip disks

I have about a dozen blank Iomega Zip disks, all 100 MB each, that I used back in college. I’d like to trash them, but I am having a hard time parting with them.

I don’t know why. I am usually good at “getting rid of things.”

For some reason, I keep telling myself they might be useful someday, once again.

Of course, I know this is not true – because these days, storage space is very easy to come by. It’s also very easy to transfer things – even really large files, from one computer to the next.

So why am I having a hard time getting rid of these disks? I guess I feel like I’d be wasting 1.2 GB of storage space.

Perhaps I’ll burn all the data on these discs to a DVD, and then just trash them.

Let’s see if I can do it.

  1. I know what you mean. I still have all my zip discs from college too. What’s even worse, is I trashed my zip drive long ago, so what am I still doing with all the discs?? I still have at least 150 cd’s with school project files on them as well. Why am I saving them? I haven’t touched them since portfolio day…
