Gliffy for flowcharts Dec31 '06

I've started using Gliffy for flowcharts and workflow diagrams. The software is quite impressive, for a free web-based utility.

To sample it, I started creating a flowchart for a new extension to the stat-tracking utility Mint. The new extension is called Feedback, and it tracks who is subscribed to your site's RSS feeds.

Anyway, the setup process was kind of confusing, at first, so I made a small diagram to help understand the flow:

This diagram is incomplete, but it just shows how easy it is to create a flowchart on Gliffy, and then be able to share it.

I've never tried Microsoft Visio yet, but recently I found the urge to start learning how to use it. However, until I get back to the office, where I can install Visio on my PC, I am working remotely from my Mac, which obviously doesn't support Visio. Gliffy seems like a good alternative for some situations.

Overall, I find workflow software is fantastic! I can't believe I've went this long without ever using or needing it. I'm sure I will be using it a lot, in the future.
