It sounds promising. It will be interesting to see how the extra bandwidth will be billed directly to us, as they mention in their FAQs.

One of the other things they announced in the Jungle Disk Plus blog post was that they are going to be moving away from their custom key encoding, which was needed originally due to limitations of S3 that have since been removed. Not sure what you mean by no way to run anything but backups, it mounts S3 as a virtual drive letting you use anything you want with it.

The JungleDisk team just announced JungleDisk Plus, which is a "companion service" to the traditional JungleDisk application.

I was just knocked over, I mean like five minutes ago, maybe on Mike Chambers? to read that JungleDisk has a proprietary format, and now I thoroughly don't trust the thing.
The first no-trust issue was the crappy interface ... these things matter ... and there is no easy way to run anything but automatic backups, another limitation.
Soon, very soon, someone is going to hook up TimeMachine with AWS. But mostly my comment is, I see no earthly reason to pay JungleDisk anything. Do you?
