Quite often my Apple headphones won’t fit properly in my ears, and fall out even for the slightest jounce. I thought it could be attributed to the cold weather – perhaps there is not enough moisture in my ear canal to hold the earbuds in place.
This morning I noticed an “L” and an “R” stamped onto the earbuds (it is kind of hard to see, but I used my iPhone camera to snap this):

I hadn’t noticed this before! I never actually looked at the earbuds closely.
Sure enough, each earbud is contoured to fit properly in it’s respective ear canal. I’m guessing the times they fell out was because they were in the wrong ear!
Thanks, Apple, for thinking of this.

Oddly enough, the headphones actually fit better for me when I swap them around. For the longest time I had been putting the R in might right ear and L in my left ear, as is logical, but I’ve always dealt with poor sound and headphones falling out of my ear. Then just the other day I got the bright idea to swap them around and now they fit perfectly and never fall out. Very strange.
