A nice idea from Google, but this is something that still bugs me today – there is no quick way to search every piece of digital data I’ve ever saved. It helps that in recent years most of my data is online somewhere – whether with a proprietary product or service, or on my own web server. So I could at least envision something that scans everything online (some kind of mashup/API thingy, etc).
But what about stuff on my local computers and devices? Now we’re just going from difficult to near impossible. It makes me realize just how fragmented the computing world is.
